Vicki Baron (B.Bus, Dip Ed) has been the Assistant Chief Assessor in Accounting for over 20 years and is currently Head of Commerce at Haileybury College. She has taught senior Accounting for 20+ years, has been a panel writer of Accounting Study Designs since 2000 and has provided professional development to teachers for 15+ years via the VCTA. Vicki is also the author of a number of publications and podcasts. She is a co-author of the CPAP Study Guide to VCE Accounting, a reviewer of, a writer of numerous trial examinations and has over 20 years experience providing student lectures on exam preparation. Vicki is the co-writer of CPAP Accounting assessment tasks and practice examinations and has directly assisted over 35 students attain Premiers Awards in Accounting over her teaching career.
Simon Phelan (B.Ed., B.Bus., Post Grad.Dip.Int.Ed) was Chief Assessor in Accounting between 2003 and 2008 and is currently Head of Senior School and a senior Commerce teacher at Rosehill Secondary College. He has been actively involved in both the setting and assessment of Accounting examinations for the VCAA, being a member of the Accounting Examination Setting Panel for 6 years, periodically serving as Panel Chairperson. Simon has previously held the positions of Head of Senior School at Elisabeth Murdoch College for 4 years and Year 11 Coordinator/Head of Accounting at Taylors College for 8 years.
The 4th edition of the CPAP Study Guide to VCE Accounting 2013 by Vicki Baron and Simon Phelan is a 170+ page publication that is designed to supplement or replace any senior Accounting text and closely follows the VCE Accounting Study Design. It includes the key information students require to successfully complete the VCE Accounting Unit 3 and 4 course. The Guide is written by two experienced teachers who have had extensive experience as Chief Assessor and Assistant Chief Assessor in VCE Accounting.
